Durango Hat

This was supposed to be a chemotherapy cap for an adult, but turned out to be child-sized. I could donate it, but my kids love it so much I'll keep it for now. I plan on modifying the pattern to make it adult-sized.

Horned Lizard / Horny Toad

My husband has been complaining that I never crochet him anything, and has been asking for a crocheted horny toad for over a year. I finally caved and made one, if only to prove to him that it was NOT going to look like a horny toad because it would be too fuzzy and cuddly. How would I crochet a zillion spikes?!

Anyway, he loves it and carried it in his pocket all day.

Chicken Sweater!

My sister is in vet school and way too busy to give me a niece or nephew, so when she got 5 baby chicks, I decided that was good enough! They are growing so fast though, they hardly look like babies anymore! I made a sweater for the chickens to share, and she took pictures for me.

Giraffe in Progress

My current project is a giraffe for my sister-in-law. I have the body, legs, and head done, and now I need to add spots. I decided not to add them as I went by changing yarn colors, and obviously now I'm done and can't go back and do THAT. I think I will go about it by crocheting little hexagons and sewing them on. Here's the naked spotless giraffe:

Firefly Hats

Upon request by my friend Amanda, I made some hats from the show Firefly.

A Jayne hat, crocheted. It looks too neat and tidy (the original looks like crap and that is most of the charm).

A Jayne hat, knitted on a circular loom. It's a bit tight but I succeeded at getting it to look "messier."

A Browncoat flag hat.

I made this hat using Vanna's Choice yarn, holding two strands together as one. I sent it to my friend Sam.

First I made a cowgirl hat for my friend Gretchen. The pattern is from Debbie Stoller's book, The Happy Hooker.

Then Kira asked me to crochet her a pink hat. I resized the pattern myself to make a child-size hat.

Here she is in her Rodeo Day outfit.

My mom got me fluffy yarn for Christmas. I started to make a cat, but halfway through the head, I discovered it was actually a MONSTER.

I made everyone amigurumi animals for Christmas. My brother said he likes pigeons the best: genuine San Francisco ratty mangy pigeons. So I did my best!
